A Brief History of Wolvercote Young People’s Club & Hub
The Wolvercote Young People’s Club (WYPC) was founded in 1939 as a Boys’ Club, run for many years by a voluntary committee of enthusiastic parents and local community members. In the 1970s, girls joined the Club, doubling its size, with continued growth throughout the 1980s.
In 2011, a charitable trust took on responsibility for youth programs and building operations, later becoming a registered charity.
Our premises, long home to WYPC, have since been renamed the Wolvercote Hub.
Today, the Wolvercote Hub provides a safe, welcoming, and accessible space where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and thrive.
The Wolvercote Hub is a community space for enjoyment, wellbeing, learning, creativity, and collaboration, strengthening a sense of belonging and connection across Wolvercote.
The Wolvercote Young People’s Club remains very much alive, retaining its name and continuing to offer youth club sessions and activities. It continues to be the inspiration and centre of the Wolvercote Hub.
