How did you hear about Wolvercote Young People’s Club and how long have you been coming to the youth club?
3 years roughly. Talking to friends. There was a club on, and Cheryl was running it, and she was really nice. Really enjoyed it.
How were things before you started coming to the youth club?
Friends influenced. Didn’t do many other clubs. Friends left and he stayed
What do you usually do when you come to the club?
Range of things. Baking, crafts, dress up days as certain characters’ games, sports, music – look forward to it each week. Chill out and relax from the world. Doesn't mind school.
What is your favourite thing about the Youth Club?
Coming ot see everyone. Cheryl, Ash, Susan, and some of the friends. Chatting.
What would you like to see more of?
Pretty happy. More trips would be good. Doing volunteer work.
How do you feel when you’re here? Has it helped your confidence, friendships, school, or how you feel?
Always quite sociable person. Not ha problem making friends or talking to adults. Know different people who wouldn’t know if it didn’t come here.
Have you learned any new skills or tried things you wouldn’t have before?
Not really. Bushcraft – learn a few new skills from Russ.
Can you share a moment at the club that really stood out to you?
Blenheim triathlon – gave out water to runners and welcomed people into the palace. Xmas fair this year. Everyone came together.
Has the youth club helped you think differently about your future?
Help you make decisions, try new skills, and think about what you want to do in the future. Ask questions about what I am going to do and he helps if a bit of advice is needed.
How important is the youth club to your life?
Pretty important because it's something that you can come to escape reality and don’t have to think about school or home. Good place to unwind and have fun.
